Meet the Leadership Team

Ed Pearson-Shaul is the Headteacher at Woodlands Primary Academy, having joined the school in March 2023. Under his leadership, the school achieved a ‘Good’ OFSTED rating in April 2023. Originally trained as a secondary PE teacher, Ed maintains a strong passion for sport, which continues to influence his approach to education. He currently leads the Community Hub project across the Great Yarmouth CET academies and is a committed advocate for a broad, balanced primary curriculum—one that equips children with the skills                                     and knowledge they need for secondary school and beyond.

Miss Brett has been a valued member of the Woodlands team for the past five years. As Deputy Head Teacher and Teaching & Learning Lead, she plays a vital role in driving academic excellence and supporting staff development across the school. She also serves as our Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all our pupils. Before joining Woodlands, Miss Brett spent a year teaching in Malaysia, an experience that enriched her global perspective on education. Prior to that, she gained 13 years of diverse teaching experience in a school in London. Miss Brett brings a wealth of                                                       knowledge and expertise to our school community. Passionate about holistic education,                                           she believes in nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. In her                                         spare time, Miss Brett enjoys travelling the world, exploring new cultures, and expanding                                         her understanding of global perspectives—insights she brings back to inspire her work at                                         Woodlands.
