Free School Meals

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 All children in these year groups automatically receive Universal Infant Free School Meals. You do not need to apply.

Years 3-6

However, if you receive one of the qualifying benefits listed below, we strongly encourage you to apply. In addition to your child receiving a nutritious meal on school days, this helps your child’s school access additional Government funding known as Pupil Premium, which supports:

• Extra tuition

• Additional teaching support

• After-school activities To qualify, you must be receiving one of the following benefits:

• Universal Credit — with annual earned income of no more than £7,400 after tax

• Income Support

• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

• Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

• The guaranteed element of Pension Credit

• Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying)

• Child Tax Credit (without Working Tax Credit) — with annual gross income of no more than £16,190
