Music Development

Music Development at Woodlands

At Woodlands, music is a joyful and essential part of our curriculum. We believe every child should have the opportunity to explore sound, express themselves creatively, and develop a lifelong love of music.

From Nursery to Year 6, pupils experience a rich and varied music education. They learn to sing, play instruments, compose, and how to listen. Our curriculum follows the National Curriculum and is designed to build musical skills progressively across the key stages.

We celebrate music through:

- Lessons that include singing, rhythm work, and instrumental exploration

- Performances in assemblies, concerts, plays and community events

- Extra-curricular opportunities such as choir

Our approach is intended to nurture confidence, collaboration, and creativity, with pupils having the opportunity to perform on stage or in the classroom.

We regularly invite parents, guardians, friends and families in for special assemblies and other events - come and hear the difference!
