Curriculum

Learning Intent

At Woodlands, our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring each child meets their potential. We are committed to providing an education that enables children to become confident, respectful and successful global citizens now and in the future. We do this through delivering a broad, well-balanced and relevant curriculum that is both inspiring and engaging.

Our curriculum focuses on skill development and encourages creativity; it reflects the children’s interests and provides many opportunities for teachers to inspire and stimulate all pupils. This supports them to develop life skills and encourages a lifelong love of learning.

We follow the National Curriculum, delivering this in a way that captures children’s enthusiasm and generates excitement about learning. This is active and based on giving children experiences to enhance their learning, including ‘brilliant beginnings’ and ‘fabulous finishes’ for each topic.

Each and every child at Woodlands is an individual with different starting points and with different strengths and areas of development. Our curriculum, teaching and learning and nurturing environment ensures that each child achieves their personal best during their time with us. We strive to ensure that all of our children are happy, healthy and active and leave our school with the confidence and skills to become successful life-long global learners.
